Merry & Bright

Got me a new stamp set and had to ink it up!

Sorry the photo quality is so bad - it's not very bright here today given that it's rained all the day long!

I used the Merry & Bright stamp set, with Bamboo and Cocoa inks.  I ran a glue pen around the ribbon on the wreath and then sprinkled it with Prisma Glitter.

Easy, peasy ... the hardest part was the corner rounder which was hard to do today because my hands are so sore.

I really like how this turned out!

Have a great day!

Some poinsettia cards I had to make ... I just had to ...

I used CTMH Burlap ribbon behind the poinsettia - love this stuff!
Have a great day!

Tea Light Snowman

Saw this on youtube this weekend so thought I'd give it a try - I love it!

Made it using the Artiste cartridge and it was so fun to make!  I used White Daisy cardstock and other miscellaneous supplies to finish him off - can't wait to pop in some battery operated tea lights in the bottom 2 layers - he's going to look so cute all lit up!

Update, here are some instructions:

  • In white, cut from Pg 56, 3 boxes sized 2.5", 2", and 1.5"
  • In black, cut from Pg 56, 1 box at 1".
  • Cut one 2.5" circle, in black, for the base of the hat.
  • Cut one 1.25" circle for the nose and then roll it up.
  • Scrap of ribbon or material for the scarf.

Have a lovely day!

I needed a sympathy card for a friend who lost her mother recently and came up with this - inspired by something I saw while surfing the 'net ... I used the Art Philosophy cart for the sentiment shape (pg 62, <Oval5>, cut at 3.5 for the grey and 3.25 for the white), SU! Close as a Memory stamp set, miscellaneous markers to colour the flowers, Memento black ink for the sentiment, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, CTMH Slate ink for the edge distressing ... R.I.P. Audrey

Clearly the Best - new episode!

This is a card from Jeanette's website which is described in the video below - I love how the Cricut carts coordinate with the stamp sets and chipboard which comes with the carts ... and other stamp sets in the Idea Books coordinate as well.  Love it!

October Stamp of the Month

I really like this set ... think it will make a lot of really great things.  If you'd like it for yourself, you can order it for $17.95 or if you place an order for $50, you can get it for just $5!

And if you have the Artiste cartridge, it coordinates beautifully with it!

Don't miss out - it's only available until Oct 31st!

Not feeling it ...

I'm simply not feeling the Christmas feeling yet this year at all so I'm looking for inspiration ... I found this card online and thought it looked simple enough that it might be easy to replicate if making several at a time or if only making a few, easy to bling it up ... here is my interpretation ...

To bling it up, you can use Harvest Twine for a bow, and sparkles or as I did here, simple jute tied into a bow.

Stamp sets: Fill in the Blank - Holiday, Remarkable Wreath
Inks:  Cranberry, Olive, Memento Black
Art Philosophy cartridge, pg 53 (base <card> cut @ 4.25", black <square4> cut @ 4", white <square4> cut @ 3.75")

Have a great day!

Flakey Friends

Happy Thanksgiving!

In Canada, it is our Thanksgiving Day long weekend but the weather has been so phenomenal and it sure doesn't feel like Thanksgiving!  It doesn't help that we just got back from Kaua'i either - still in summer mode!

But the turkey is cooking and filling the house with delicious smells and everything else is prepped and ready to go!  Missing my daughter but thankful she is in such a good place at school.

Got into the craft room finally and worked with a new set that I hadn't used before - Flakey Friends.  I've loved snow people forever so when I saw this set, it had to join my collection.

I stamped the snowman with Versamark and then embossed with black embossing powder (note to self, remember to use the embossing buddy first - I always forget!!).

I coloured the scarf and nose with Outdoor Denim and Autumn Terracotta markers and a Copic colour for the main body.

The background circle was cut with the Artiste cartridge (pg 31, Accent 2, cut at 2-1/2").

The background snowflakes were stamped with Indian Corn Blue, Twilight and Pacifica inks.

The background embossing is from a Tim Holz embossing folder and the blue paper is miscellaneous paper I'm trying to use up!

Have a great day!

Artiste Cartridge & Art Philosophy Cartridge Overviews

I love these two cartridges - they are so full of different ideas.  I'm loving trying different things - there are over 700 images to cut on each cartridge.

Happy Crafting!

Clearly the Best - Close to My Heart Craft Channel Show

Just wanted to let you all know about this video series that Close to My Heart is currently producing - they are very informative - here is the link to the site ... the links to all of their videos are there.

Here is their latest video ...

Happy crafting :)

Where'd she go??

Took a little vacation to Kaua'i with my hubby to celebrate 20 years of marriage ... oh my gosh, it's lovely there! I could definitely live there - it was so lovely, warm and relaxing!

No card making while I was away but I did make a couple of cards when I got back.

I used the Life is a Beach Cricut cartridge, a new embossing folder from Darice that I got at Ben Franklin Crafts and some miscellaneous paper.

It's a nice long weekend coming up this weekend for our Thanksgiving so hopefully will get to spend some time in the craft room and get over this jet lag - it wasn't bad when we went there but coming back seems to be tougher to shake!

Have a great day!
