Paper Bird Greetings

Hope you're not tired of seeing this little bird - I just love it!  This card was inspired from (well I don't know, I cannot find the link!  I will update when I find it again!  UPDATE, found it here. I mostly cased it but as usual, I can't make it exactly the same to save my life!  I used Versafine Black ink, Glacier and Honey inks, our Black journaling pen to freehand draw the circles.  The flower is popped up with 3-d foam tape.  Stamp sets used were Paper Bird (Hostess set) and Shower Flowers.

Have a fabulous day!

Bird Crazy

Well my lucky upline got to go to Convention and she was kind enough to let me paw through all her goodies when she got back - so excited about all the new product coming in the new catalogue but more on that in another post!

One non-CTMH thing that she brought back for me was Bird Crazy which I have been coveting forever and which she was fortunate enough to find in her travels.

So while I wait (im)patiently for the new Cricut cartridge which I cannot wait to play with, I had some fun with these stamps when I got home - first I tried using water colour pencils and I apparently need a LOT of practice and threw those attempts out!  Then I moved onto familiar territory and used our wonderful CTMH inks and put some ink onto an acrylic block and with a water pen and had some fun ... here is the result  ... I used the Operation Smile, Happy Everything, stamp set for the sentiment and balloon and of course the bird is from Bird Crazy.

One thing I did discover with my 3 attempts, I used Stazon Black with my first attempt which was great, I used Memento Black ink which ran/bled so will not use again for this type of project and for this one, I used Versafine Black and it was perfect!  Note to self, it is totally ok to experiment - I have a hard time with that sometimes!

[Note, if you are colouring with our fabulous ShinHan markers which are alcohol based, or any other alcohol based markers (ie Copic), do not ever use Stazon with them.  Apparently bad things will happen!]

Hope you are having a lovely sunshiny day!

End of the Month and Cricut Cartridge News

Hello, I cannot believe it is almost the end of July but I say that every month - time is flying by!

Anyway, just wanted to remind you to not forget the Stamp of the Month - it is gone at the end of this month so if you want it, don't wait!  And don't forget about our July promotion 'Jump on it July!' to get a hostess set that you've been wanting but haven't wanted to get a gathering together or maybe get the Stamp of the Month free!

Also, a quick note about our Cricut cartridges ... the 4 current Collections are being revamped and as of September 1st, rather than including chipboard or white daisy cardstock, they will be coming with one package of one of the Combo Cardstock collections.  So don't panic if you are seeing them on the retiring list, it is just this current Collection that is being retired, not the cartridge itself or the fabulous stamp sets that come with it.

One other thing to note is that if you have been eying one (or all!), prices will be going up September 1st to $117.95.  Still a fabulous deal considering what you are getting but if you don't care about the cardstock, now might be the time to pick up that cartridge you have been thinking about getting at a lower price.

Have a fabulous day!

Coffee Happiness

Totally inspired from here ... here is my version - used the June stamp of the Month (Ice Cream Dream, retired), Treats of Friendship and the Keyboard alphabet (soon to retire) and various ShinHan markers.

Have a happy (de)caffeinated day :)

Some Paper Bird Fun

Playing around with the Paper Bird (hostess) set that is part of the July special and came up with this ... inspired from somewhere (likely Pinterest or Facebook) and will post the link when I find it again!

I did not write down what I used but am guessing Chocolate ink for stamping the bird and sentiment and then Honey and Autumn Terracotta and more Chocolate ink to distress the edges.  I also used the Chevron border punch and mini glue dots to attach the black hemp to the buttons and larger glue dots to attach the buttons to the card.

Have an amazing day!

Watercolour Fun!

Had some fun watercolouring with my stamping buddies recently on our do our own craft day ... here is a finished card using one of the backgrounds I made that day ... used the Operation Smile stamp set from the current Seasonal Inspirations catalogue (will retire August 31st) ... the circles are inked using the White Daisy pigment ink (Bokeh technique)

Here is a card I made tonight, just goofing around with some of the soon to be retired inks (Barn Red, Autumn Terracotta, Goldrush, Honey) and an acrylic block as well as the Your Own Kind of Wonderful stamp set and the Paper Bird (hostess) stamp set.

Give it a try - it's fun!
